My kids are:

Martha (age 10), named after her great-grandmother (Martha) and my

sister ()

Alice Marilla (age 8), named after her great-great-grandmother (Alice) and

the woman who adopted Anne Shirley in the Green Gables books (Marilla)... I

chose that name because of its adoption significance... both my girls were

adopted.

Isaac Evan (age 4)... we chose " Isaac " because it means " laughter " , and

that's what we did when we found out I was pregnant, plus it's what we did

again when he was born because they had told us all along that it was a

girl, and I got a big surprise in the operating room during my c-section!

hehe We chose " Evan " as a middle name because the great Welsh revival of the

late 1800s/early 1900s was begun by a really neat guy named Evan .

Probably more than you wanted to know!!! hehe

That's very wise reasoning... it's one thing to honor someone, but it's

another thing entirely to saddle a little kid with a name that fifteen other

close relatives also have... lol

I devoured all the Green Gables books when I was a girl, and had a very

different picture of Marilla in mind than the actress they chose to play her

in the movie series. Not that I didn't like that actress; she was a very

good one and I liked her. She just didn't look like Marilla to me! hehe I

also liked the actress that played Anne, but she was much too short in my

opinion. In the original books, Anne was tall. Oh well!! The casting

director didn't consult me, of course! LOL

Candy,

My 10 year old daughter's name is Katelyn and #2 scheduled

(tentatively) for August 2nd. will be . I like original names not

trendy names because then they will be in class with 2 or 3 more with the same

name like my daughter has 3 's in her class. That must hae been a popular

name back in 1994. Best wishes to you!!

EDD#2 8/2/04

Have a great day!!

We have no kids yet (besides the one on the way) but the names we have picked

out are:

Girl: Madison Nichole

Boy: Bryon Jr. (Naming after hubby!) And yes, it's pronounced like

b-r-i-a-n NOT bYron, LOL.

Hello everyone.

The process of picking out names has been a challenging one for us to say the

least. Each one I suggest is shot down-- but so are the ones he suggests and

they are shot down by me! We are at no agreement and I have only 6 1/2 weeks to

go... I think it will be down to the wire with us deciding. We know we are

having a boy so many people ask about the names-- I don't even tell them the

ones we have kicked around anymore as the responses are rather suprising!

People do not hold back on their opinions, do they? Here are the ones my

fiancee likes (soon-to-be hubby, we are getting married THIS Friday 7/9!):

Kale Nielsen ( keeps calling the baby Kale now). I don't care for

this one but I have to say it is growing on me but it wouldn't be my first

choice. What do you all think? Honestly, I would rather hear opinions from you

all and just see what you have to say... I know that in the end it is our

decision but I would like some feedback now! haha

Cam ? Nielsen- not Cameron just Cam and I don't like it! I think Cameron is

cute but not just Cam by itself.

Shay ? Nielsen- Irish boy name but sounds too feminine to me.

See what I am up against? I am SO frustrated. I do have a son who is named

Jake and I would love to name the new baby Jack after not only my

grandfather but 's, too but he thinks it is too " average " of a name!

I like Cade/Kade Nielsen, Caden, and Oliver to just name a few. What is

this poor girl to do??? I just needed to vent.

Have a good day everyone.

Ivy Kennedy

DOS 11/7/00; EDD 8/22/04--it's another boy! Big brother Jake will be 10 yrs old

on 9/25/04.
