We started the gf/cf diet at the beginning of March for my son who

will be 4 in June. Also an allergy spray based on the idea of

immunotherapy (therapeutic doses of things he is allergic to). We saw

no changes and a with a few gluten infractions, no reaction.

Then we added flax-seed oil about a month ago. Our doctor was

surprised the flax-seed oil didn't clear up the red bumps on my son's

arms. He said it is often a fatty-acid deficiency. Then we added CLO

about two weeks ago. Still no differences.

Strangely enough, after convincing my son to give up his pacifier

over Easter weekend(with gf/cf chocolate as a reward), he has become

more clingy (in a good way...wants to snuggle at night and often asks

me to play with him). Is it the loss of the paci or is it the

chocolate? LOL.

Last week, we added Nu Thera P5P. I didn't notice anything at first

but we worked up to the full dose over the week and he has gotten the

full dose in the last few days. Now I'm noticing a little bit more

conversational speech, questions/curiosity. On the flip side, he has

been really easily upset these last few days, having major crying

jags whenever his will is thwarted. I should add he is having

horrible allergy symptoms that coincided with the trees blooming and

I've been giving Benadryl twice a day (morning and bedtime).

Now I don't know what, if anything, is causing any changes we are

seeing. Is it a cumulative effect of multiple interventions or the

addition of the vitamins? Could the vitamins be helping with the

language/social skills while also making him easily irritable...or

should I attribute that to the allergies/Benadryl?

How the heck do you figure out what's what?

Thanks,

Donna
