Guest guest
I would ask your primary care doc to refer someone to you. I needed a high risk doc for my first pregnancy that was from infertility problems and NOT for this one after WLS. I think that as long as you eat well and can get in your vitamins and your doc is open to suggestions about WLS patients then you should be just fine. the only thing i did different this pregnancy than my others is that i did NOT do the glucose testing but rather a 2 hour fasting testing. thats the only difference. good Luck, God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi all, Moved to the Atlanta metro area last year (southside) Had my Lap RNY last November. So far, I've lost 140 pounds!! We are planning to maybe start trying in November once I've hit the year mark. Here's my question. I have no clue how to start. I don't even have a gyn here yet. Do I establish with a high risk doctor first? How can I find a WLS friendly OB? MY first child was conceived after lots of infertility and I ended up being with a high risk dr because of high blood pressure so I want to do this right from the very beginning. Any advice or Dr referals would be appreciated. I'm going to peruse the archives in the meantime. Thanks, Meg
Guest guest
I don't know any thing about Atlanta but my advise on finding a WLS friendil OB would be to first find a WLS surgons office for advise. You will still need follow up blood work and many WLS office will take patients just for the follow up. They will probabally be able to refer you to WLS friendly ob's you will not necessarily need a high risk doc. If there are any support groups in the area the people there may also give you some suggestions. You could also go on obesityhelp.com and look people up in the Atlanta area and most of them will be more than happy to help you find a WLS doc or tell you about their ob if they have had kids post op. Good Luck - I think you'll be OK as long as you do your homework and Atlanta is a big enough area to find what you are looking for. - Diane > Hi all, > > Moved to the Atlanta metro area last year (southside) Had my Lap > RNY last November.
