I'll just say that I am new to the list and my son has been GFCF for just

about one year (he is 3 - diagnosed as autistic in Feb. 2000 - started the

diet in March (first casein) then in May (added the gluten))

And I have no new products to promote :)

I am just sorta hoping to get some new ideas and learn more about different

products and or supplements.

Anyone else noticed that new people are joining the group, announcing

that their kids aren't on the gfcf diet, and promoting new products?

Hmmm...just curious.

,

I just want to clarify that my son has been on the diet for one

year. I have never posted here, only read messages because I never

had a reason to post before. You are wise to question why people

would suddenly be posting about the enzymes. I did it to relieve my

guilt! It is hard to read some of the messages written by people

struggling with the diet knowing my son is now able to " cheat " on the

diet. I only posted to give others the same oppurtunity. I have

been watching to see if one of the regular posters would mention

anything since the enzymes came out three weeks ago. We who usually

stick with the www.gfcfdiet.com message board are very familiar with

Devin Houston because he has answered all our chemistry questions for

quite some time. When I joined that board a year ago, he was already

a poster there. Everyone there has been anxiously awaiting these

enzymes for quite some time since he announced he was formulating

them.

When I found this diet first from Karyn Seroussi's article in Parents

magazine, I was ecstatic! I have since done everything I can to

educate others about the diet. I am now overjoyed that my son is

able to buy lunch at school once in awhile. He has Asperger's and

very much wants to fit in. I knew by posting here that it would

raise suspicion. I was simply sharing our small miracle. Devin

spoke to our local diet support group in Lenexa, Kansas the very

first day his enzymes were available a little over three weeks ago.

He is obviously a very intelligent, hard-working, well-meaning

person. I have nothing to gain from letting you know about his

enzymes other than jumping for joy that my son can eat strawberries,

peanutbutter, and pink lemonade now- let alone gluten and casein. We

had eliminated so many foods that he and I both were bummed about his

lunches each day. New sensitivities seemed to keep emerging even

after a year. I still intend to keep him on the diet, but give him

the enzymes daily. I truly feel they are breaking down all kinds of

proteins. My father-in-law had not seen my son since he had started

the enzymes and he just commented that my son looks happy and healthy

now.

Remember how you wanted to share about this diet? That's how I feel

about the enzymes. I guess I'm having survivor guilt! I will still

encourage parents I meet to buy the Seroussi and book as I

always have, and advise them to do testing, but I'll also tell them

about the enzymes. I'll go back to just lurking here now unless you

have more questions.

I just sent a reply out to someone saying forget the diet and try blah,

blah. Then why are they here?

I not happy that new members have joined the listing without their kids being

on the diet. I don't want to read articles that don't apply to my situation,

if I did I would not be on this list.

We can't stop them from perusing the list, but we can ask the listowners to

try to block their postings.

New therapies are nice to hear about once in a while, but I don't want to be

inundated with their daily postings.

Just my 2 cents worth.
