Guest guest
, Just wondering how Grace is doing on her walking. I was thinking about how you can encourage her to let go (although if she is still getting those teeth she may not be interested in trying new things right now). One of the boys in Sammy's room at daycare is just starting to take steps on his own and he *loves* his binky -- he will take steps to get it if they hold it out for him, for anything else he just cruises or crawls. If you find that one thing she will let go for, maybe that will do the trick. Just thinking of you guys and thought I would throw that out there. Guest guest
allison.. since me and kenny are seperated right now and i am staynig with my mother, she would KILL me if i used her binky as a pawn... grace only gets it in her car seat and in bed and my mom is freaking over that.. but i will try to think of something that she will try for.. bbq sauce is always a good one.. lol... she has started to let go of the furniture and just stand there.. and the first few days she would fall after only 1-2 seconds.. but this last almsot week now.. she actually seems to get scared and sits down instead of falling.. but she is standing in place to the count of 4-5.. so i think that's an improvement.. what do you think? oh and she also no longer wants to walk with me holding both my hands... she only wants me to hold on to one of her hands... i think she is gaining confidence.. when i try to hold the other hand she pulls it away.. so that's another good sign too right? mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF Dobb's Brace 16/7 jagrindon@...> wrote: , Just wondering how Grace is doing on her walking. Guest guest
lisa: when Gwyneth wasn't walking it was all I could think about. She would walk holding onto my hands, but not on her own. She cruised for months. She started cruising at 10 months, and everyone kept saying " any day now " which drove me crazy, because she didn't walk until she was almost 15 months. (February 28th at 12:43 pm, I remember the exact time!) One thing I did was get one of those toys that you push from behind. She could hold onto that and push it, then it took about two weeks and she took steps on her own. In Gwyneth's case, I think she crawled longer because she was familiar with it. No reason to try to walk, because she couldn't do it once she was in her brace. I never used a walker or jonny jump up, just this push toy. It seemed to work for us. Guest guest
Amy, I had to laugh when I read your email, I had just finished posting to that Grace is going to walk " any day now " , lol. I just really have a strong feeling about it, but we all know she will do it when she is ready. : ) , sorry if I am fueling your stress over this, just wanting to encourage you and Grace too! > , > Just wondering how Grace is doing on her walking. Guest guest
amy.. i have one of those push toys for her.. and she does real well with it.. well now anyways.. when i first got it she wasn't real steady on her feet and her feet were fully corrected... i was so excited for her to walk and went out to the store and bought the push toy.. brought it home.. she was intrigued.. stood her up to it and was ready for her to walk all over the house.. it went forward and she didn't and she fell and busted her mouth and bled... so she didn't want to even look at it for a long time.. so i was the loser mommy that day... so she has just recently gotten interested in it again but it's still not her favorite.. can you blame her...lol... mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF Dobb's Brace 16/7 Amy Shull lapiseye@...> wrote: lisa: when Gwyneth wasn't walking it was all I could think about.
