Guest guest
I just sent a message about my sisters seizures. She also had a stroke that left her with a limp on her left side and used alot of wrong words like describing there recent trip saying sea works instead of sea world. She experienced the stroke between being released from the hospital after the 4 day coma, aa 2 week trip to Florida, and returning home. Then 3 weeks later 10 hrs of seizures while on a seizure med. I do that frequently (and interestingly also have residual weakness on my left side), although it is much better when I stay on my low-carb diet and take my supplements as I should. At least at this point I don't get laughs from my husband about it, but my dad (who is very helpful in general) seems to still find it funny and a point to argue about. Like saying " Colorado " for " cauliflower " or " them " instead of " there " . I had one day over our vacation the end of June where literally every sentence included switched words (hundreds of sentences each day of course Personally I find it very frustrating because I know what I mean but the wrong words come out. Sometimes I go through a few sentences before I realize that I used some wrong words. I also have had aphasia where I can't speak at all but the words are in my head. I am still able to work full-time - it seems that even when I have trouble talking, my typing is fine and I detect mistakes quickly and fix them. I think the Mitoldies list is very responsible for my " good health " right now, as I am very tuned-in to when I start to have more symptoms and have some hope of changing my own supplement regimen and diet to reduce symptoms. I am currently working at home, and I found that when I was working in the office, I had trouble following conversations and speaking, so my tendency towards ADD was balanced by being afraid I couldn't speak correctly. Emails work much better. Oh, and luckily I am in research where we are expected to be kind of " nutty " Take care, RH
Guest guest
I am sure that there are many who can relate to what you just said. I too, have had a stroke and still have lots of SLE. I am weaker on the left side. But when you talk about the wording/ I am with you all the way on that. It is very frustrating and like you said, sometimes I don't even notice it or catch it. Like one time I was driving cause I felt good that day, even my head felt good that day, and my neices were in the back of the car. My neice said she was hot, and I said well open the car door and let the air in. Thank God she was old enought to no better. And then there are times like you said, I will substitute another word for the one I wanted to really say. But typing, I have no problem. Just wanted you to no, we are with you. As of yet I have not found anything that helped in this new vocabulary. --- ohgminion2 ohgminion2@...> wrote: > > > > > I just sent a message about my sisters seizures. > She also had a > > stroke that left her with a limp on her left side > and used alot of > > wrong words like describing there recent trip > saying sea works > > instead of sea world. > > I do that frequently (and interestingly also have > residual weakness on > my left side), although it is much better when I > stay on my low-carb > diet and take my supplements as I should.
