Weight Loss and Diet

Hi,

I have another concern I wanted to ask the group. I have put on a lot

of weight in the past year. I have had a lot of trouble with my

digestive system. I had gallbladder surgery and complicatons

afterward. After that I found out I had dysmotility, which explained

a lot. [g] I had to go onto a liquid diet for about 4 months. Mostly

non fat yogurt/fruit shakes. I also had severe energy crisis at the

same time and for quite awhile after surgery I was having blood sugar

issues and had to eat every 3 hours.

So now I have all this extra weight and I hate it. I don't think I

can increase my activity any more than I already am and carrying the

weight around is making me more tired and hurting my muscles more. I

would really like to lose the weight, but find it very discouraging.

I feel my diet is pretty limited as it is. I can't eat a number of

foods, I really can't eat solid food at every meal without having

problems digesting. I don't seem to be digesting meats very easily and

end up with heartburn when I try it, even using digestive enzymes. So

I end up eating the same meals/foods so often that I get so tired of them.

It seems like a huge task to try to lose the weight. I have started a

diet 5 times in the past 6 months and after the first week, I feel

horrible and go back to eating the way I was eating.

I have the opportunity of working with a nutritionist and I am going

to try that. But I wanted to ask if anyone here has had experience

with losing weight and managing their diet, with the dysmotility and

blood chemistry issues?

What do you eat? How often do you eat? How large a meal do you have?

Do you have any tips about losing weight?

Thanks :-)
