I did overdue it though and ate alot of Mcs crap and ate too many times on going to bed thinking " I'm pregnant, the baby needs this " So I sabatoged myself And i already gained 30 pounds at 26 1/2 weeks but they told me today that was a good thing, YEAH RIGHT, to THEM maybe...Well, i am better now and I am praying I can stay under the 40 pounds mark for the whole pregnancy. Guest guest
You sound just like me. It seems as if I eat all day long!! I have even gotten up at night to go potty and grabbed a snack on the way back to the bedroom!! alot of posts I have read say the same thing. My hubby and I have a joke that it's not me that is hungry, it's the baby. Almost every post I have read has said to eat when you are hungry, because you need all the nutrition you can get. I am now 24 weeks and have gained 5lbs. I lost 12lbs to begin with though. Good luck. Guest guest
It was the norm with me. The baby takes what he/she needs and most of the time that was anything I consumed. I lost 50lbs during my pregnancy but I was also only 3 months out of surgery. Margaret
Guest guest
Hi Robin! It is so comforting to hear that someone else out there is eating and gaining… I am almost 23 weeks and have gained 16 pounds so far (I know even more by my 24 week check up!). I have felt like a failure in some regards because so many people on the list don’t gain (actually lose throughout) or have only gained 5 pounds so I feel really alone. I keep reminding myself that I am 3 ½ years out and that everyone is different. Thank you for writing this about your gain--it is “normal” or “average” for a pregnant woman!! I, too, haven’t made the best choices but you know what, I feel good and the baby is healthy and that is all that matters. I think that many of us dwell too much on the weight gain (me included) due to the journey we have had or are going through. I know that I when I found out I was pregnant, I really thought I wouldn’t gain that much being that I had WLS—but then my doctor reminded me how long ago I had surgery and that my eating proportions have changed. Thanks again Robin, I am not feeling so alone anymore!! Ivy Kennedy 11/7/00 Dr. Baker, Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN EDD 8/22/04—it’s another boy! Guest guest
IVY! Please dont compare yourself to others. Most people who lose throughout or dont gain are still in the honeymoon period of the surgery. I gained 18 pounds while pregnant but I also had the stomach flu and severe morning sickness during the first three months of pregnancy which kept the gain down a bit. Normal weight gain for pregnancy is 25 to 35 pounds for women who did not have surgery. Post WLS surgery is a little lower but you are still expected to gain. YOu sound like you are doing just fine!! Enjoy every moment dear. mailto: dferguson@... BTC, Columbus, 10/7/98 RE: Appetite question Hi Robin! It is so comforting to hear that someone else out there is eating and gaining. Guest guest
I have to admit.. I allow myself a Mc's cheeseburger once a week.. my treat on Fridays.... otherwise, I just try to eat fairly healthy stuff.. but I still like ice cream too.. I can't tolerate drinking milk - but the sugar free Ice cream, I can handle.. Thanks for the advice! Is this normal??? Should I be concerned? Thanks, Trish Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
Guest guest
I just found out yesterday I was pregnant, and that may explain why I *gasp* ate 4 eggs yesterday morning. I have no clue how I fit that in me, 2 eggs, are almost too much. I ate my 2 fried eggs, and when I finished, I was still starving. So, I scrambled 2 more, figuring yeah sure I'd probably only eat a bite or two, but noooo, I ate all of it. Then I was ok, but I have been feeling starving for 3 days now. Not today though, today I'm really really quesy. Looks like my deoderant is not a good thing, the smell of it has me feeling sick, lol.
