Guest guest
you need to find out why you miscarried before. Low progesterone? then you need to start progesterone ASAP. My OB told me that if that was my prob, he would start me on progesterone supplementation as soon as I got the positive preg test. Another OB told me I needed to be started on progeterone SOONER than the positive preg test, so who knows? Ask some questions and ask if you should be on progesterone if that may have been the cause of your prev mc/s Sheila
Guest guest
Well, nothing could have stopped the last one from happening, it was a blighted ovum. As for the other, my first one, they said that it was probably because of my weight. No one did any tests on me then, I wasn't able to take the results of the miscarriage to the dr, because I was living in Seattle, and miscarried in Washington D.C. Can they test for low progestorin now?? or is it too late, and if that my problem, am I in really big trouble in keeping this baby? Guest guest
Kris, I can't remember, but do you also have PCOS? If so, I highly recommend using Natural Progesterone Cream until you are 12 weeks along. The doctor could give you suppositories as well, but the cream is less messy and does the same thing. A lot of doctors don't give the progesterone because they don't think it makes a difference, but women with PCOS have extremely low levels of progesterone. Progesterone is what keeps you pg. Anyway, if you do have it, I hope that helps. And even if you don't have PCOS, that could still be the reason you miscarry. I recommend you ask your doctor to test your progesterone levels!! By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!! a
Guest guest
Good luck Kris. And BTW, never read your pregnancy test a while after it's in the trash. It will usually turn positive after a while. Been there, done that! but if you've gotten two positives, go to the doctor so you yourself can be POSITIVE!! Wondering is the worst part Margaret
Guest guest
I never got tested for PCOS because I had normal periods. I had other symptoms though. Anyhow, do you get the cream from the Dr or from the store? Or from online? lol. I am willing to do whatever it takes to have this baby and not miscarry. I've even, gasp, cut my husband off. He understands though, and says that he's already done his part, he can wait until I hit the three month mark. Now to wait to see the Dr. I called today, but they are all in meetings, no one will even set me up with an appt, so... I have to call back between 4-5 today or wait until Monday. I have so much fear right now, but I'm trying not to let it get to me. I know its important to be relaxed, and calm. Kris
Guest guest
CONGRATULATIONS. As for getting to the doctor ASAP -- umm probably not. It might make you feel better but not necessarily. If something is going to happen it may just happen and seeing a doctor or not seeing a doctor may not stop it. Good grief that sounds depressing. But I dont mean it to be. ENJOY BEING PREGNANT HON! Enjoy every second, call your OB and call your surgeon. Make sure you take your vitamins and eat healthy. mailto: dferguson@... BTC, Columbus, 10/7/98 I DID IT!!! > Ok, tested 3 days ago. Guest guest
Sorry to jump in here.. But I wanted to say that Sheila is right!!! I have had 2 miscarriages before.. both prior to my WLS.. but the doc still put me on progesterone as soon as I found out I was pregnant.. my numbers have been great. I am 11 weeks now.. and I never made it past 5 weeks in the previous pregnacies. Definately ask your doctor about it!!!! Trish > you need to find out why you miscarried before. > > Low progesterone? then you need to start progesterone ASAP. Guest guest
LOL!! I have done the same thing to my DH.. though I have had to give in a couple times.. just too scared to. Even though my doc did say that it was fine.. I just don't want to take any chances at all! BTW.. I do have PCOS.. so that's why they put me on the progesterone. Mine is an RX and it's called Crinone. I actually like it. It's not a suppository, but a cream.. not bad! Just relax and call the doc 1st thing Monday morning! I am sure you are going to be just fine! Oh- and my OB prescribed some chewable pre-natal vitamins! They are great. You should see my nails! They have never looked better! LOL!
