Guest guest
Um don't get my lying to you but Everett has a pair of white leather baby shoes - just the old traditional style baby shoe (from Wal-Mart) much like the Markell DBB shoe, he wears this when he needs shoes out of his DBB... Anyway - I just toss them in the washing machine, dryer, then put white shoe polish on them and they turn out great. Not sure if you can launder the Markells but I bet you could scrub them with a soapy wash cloth if nothing else then use shoe polish. s. Shoe cleaning question... Does anybody have a good way to clean the Markells? Ava's shoes aren't filthy, just a little dingy. (White leather isn't the best at hiding dirt!) I'd just like to clean them up a little. So what do I use-- leather cleaner or something? Thanks, mommy of: Guinevere, on, Ava 8/4/04 right CF DBB 23/
Guest guest
I would use soap and a green scratchy (like you use for dishes). Guest guest
oh! I just remembered what my mom uses on her white leather shoes. There's a product you can get in the states called Soft Scrub. It's for cleaning kitchen sinks, etc. She swears by it for her shoes. She cleans them with it and then puts shoe white on them (a white shoe polish - get at shoe stores). Darbi wrote on her shoes with a pen. I have found the Magic Eraser takes ink pen off walls and my table (Darbi's got a problem with writing on walls and the table, just about anything... grrr...). I'm going to try the Magic Eraser on her shoes. I'll let you know if it works. I use it on the kitchen walls and fridge, it gets gunk off right easy whereas spray would take considerable rubbing. Love the Magic Eraser! Guest guest
That's what I usually do with EVERYTHING--I figure if it can't handle being tossed in the washing machine I don't have the time to hand wash it...so basically it either comes out clean, or gets destroyed and I toss it. But I kind of want these to stay nice in case I can pass them on or something. I thought about just washing them & using white shoe polish. Guest guest
Well, last time I checked Pennsylvania was in " the states " and we also have Soft Scrub...hehehe Just kidding! Maybe I'll try that strange product...if I can find it in our foreign stores... ;-p I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Magic Eraser! I use it all the time too! I was such a skeptic (sp?) I got a free sample & was like " Okay, let's see how magical you REALLY are! " Cut to me--literally 3 hours later-- still " erasing " everything in the house! I did all my walls in the whole house & everything else I could find! I even moved furniture-- and I was 6 months pregnant! It also works great on baby dolls! , mommy of: Guinevere, on, Ava 8/4/04 right CF DBB 23/7 > > > > > > >Does anybody have a good way to clean the Markells? Guest guest
Amen sister - if it can't handle the washing machine i don't need it! LOL! But when it comes to these necessary little shoes I reckon we ought to exercise a little caution. Everett's mitchell shoes look awful, i'm really glad I don't have to show them out in public anymore. s. Shoe cleaning question... > > > > > Does anybody have a good way to clean the Markells? Guest guest
Magic Eraser doe not work to take ink pen off Markell shoes :~{ man... I thought it would. I got a laugh over your description of the sample in the mail... I totally did that too! not pregnant though. It's been amazing for my table though. It even took blowpen off (don't EVEN want to get into why it got on the table in the first place - NOT my kid!) and blowpen I think is more permanent than sharpie. Guest guest
I too am obsessed with the magic eraser!!! LOL! We're such geeks!! I have to erase my husbands newspaper fingerprints that he seems to 'not see' all over my white doors. I have also used it to erase ink that my son kindly doodled all over the white wall. Love it!!! Guest guest
, Where do you live? The Magic Eraser is made by Mr. Clean brand. It looks like a white spongey block. You just get it a little moist and rub it on the spot you want to remove. Like Kori said, you can use it on all spots, scratches, etc on any surface. It really works!! And it is inexpensive. You should try it. Shook Retail Operations Manager/Baking Instructor Vie de France Yamazaki, Inc. 2070 Chain Bridge Rd.
