Guest guest
nope. You must have an older pair, I saw one like that in a picture once I think, is the strap black? But the new style Markell's (and even the old style) didn't have that. Check out the Markell website, the new style have an enlarged heel pocket and padding at the top/ankle that is intended to take the place of the plastizode inserts which were required in the old style (the ones without velcro :~} ). www.markellshoe.com Next pair of shoes, tell them you don't want stock that's been sitting there forever. I'm pretty sure the ones without the velcro have been around since before 1998 and this new style has been in production since Oct. of 2003. Guest guest
The strap isn't black...but I got these from another group member who didn't use them...her daughter had atyp & so they didn't work. So they are a couple of years old, but they were literally brand new. I think her daughter wore them maybe a week. But Ava does just fine in them--we've never had a sore or blister or anything. But she goes for a checkup on the 24th & I'm sure she'll need a new pair, so unless anyone has an old pair of size 1's and an 8 " or 10 " bar laying around **hint hint ;-)** I guess we'll be buying her next pair. It did have little foamy inserts at the top around the back of the ankle, but they came off about 2 weeks ago & we haven't had any trouble. She has very nice heels though. So the new ones don't have velcro? I find it very handy, I put the laces inside it so Ava can't get to them & pull them & untie the shoes...until she learns to undo the velcro, that is! , mommy of: Guinevere, on, Ava 8/4/04 right CF DBB 23/7 (10 days left!!) > nope. Guest guest
The velcro is to replace the buckles. We got Ava's first pair of shoes from the same place and they asked us if we wanted laces and buckles or laces and the velcro. We chose the buckles. Maybe they just gave them to her and didn't give a choice?? I'm sure they work the same. Sorry there not the next size you need. KK > > nope.
