Hello,

I flew as late as 32 weeks in my pregnancy with my son 4 years ago and then I

flew in May with this pregnancy.

Since I have a blood clotting disorder my doctor told me to get up every hour

and walk to and from the bathroom and move my legs and feet a lot when sitting.

I also was told to drink lots of water....

If your flying southwest....bring food cause all they have is peanuts, pretzels

and their carb rich little packs of food....not great for the pregnant gastric

bypass ladies!

And even if you aren't flying southwest the airline food is usually not so hot

so maybe bring something that you know will not upset your tummy.....cause being

sick in a very tiny bathroom on a plane is not fun at all!

Good luck!

Flying While Pregnant

Hi Ladies!

I need your help and fast!!

I just found out last week I am pregnant (at least that's what the 7 HPT I

took said, yes, 7!!!) Anyway, I am beyond excited, but have a little problem. I

live on the East Coast and am scheduled to fly to Phoenix for the weekend,

leaving this Saturday. I am scared to death!!

I called my doctor and he said it was fine for me to fly and just about

everything I have read says there is no problem, but I am still worried.

Does anyone have any words of advise to get me on that plane??

TIA

Ro

My high risk doc said to wear support hose and to drink at least 24

oz of water with in 1 hour of flying. Also sit by the aisle because

of the water :) - Diane

Hi Ro! After checking in with OB's office & getting the thumbs up, I

flew @ 7 weeks pg. I'm fine, thank the Good Lord. However, I did get

a big scare----we flew into Philly during a horrendous thunderstorm,

passengers had petrified looks on their faces, a few where shouting,

little kids crying. Let's just say it felt like the plane was outta

control, with all the turbulence & it felt like we were descending way

too quickly. We landed HARD, I mean damn HARD!! I was shaken up, &

was worried that precious baby could've detached!

Anyway, sorry if this is alarming---suppose it's part of living & like

they say: crossing the street or driving etc etc can pose a potential

hazard. But the vast majority of the time, we manage.
