Guest guest
, I'm no expert so please take that under consideration. My daughter did the same thing (side of foot though) and our Ortho kept telling me it was fine. It would go back in to position but I just had a gut feeling that things weren't right. I went to see Dr. P and sure enough, she had relapsed and it took 3 castings to recorrect it. I'm very aware that it could happen again given her atypical feet so I'm always watching it. So far so good. When the relapse was diagnosed, we were due to go down to 12/7 with the brace but now we're back in them 23/7 for awhile. If it were me, I'd email Dr. P some pictures and see what he says. Chris Will anyone be at Dr. Dobbs office this Thursday? We are taking Kolby back to St. Louis this Thursday the 3rd. Will any of you be there? It would be so awesome to meet someone there. Hopefully he will go to 12/7 with his brace. His left foot still worries me. It's maintained great flexibility and will go into corrected position but for some reason, and this may be normal, he has a tendency to still want to stand on his ankle. When he is standing, I will physically move his foot to a flat position and he is fine with that. Could it be that he doesn't have control of it? I'm having all these horrible thought now and will be so glad to talk to him on Thursday. If I have time tonight, I will post a picture of him of the cfpics so maybe I can get some feedback. mom of kolby 14mos DBB 23/
Guest guest
That's the kind of thing I'm afraid of. Since we're going on Thursday, I will see what he has to say. In my case, I don't know that it's necessarily a relapse because that foot has always been stubborn. Dr. Dobbs did say that because of his age when he began treatment, it would not be uncommon if he periodically cast him to make sure he didn't relapse. If he is not worried about it on Thursday, I may email Dr. Ponsetti some pictures just to get his opinion. Dr. Ponsetti actually referred me to Dr. Dobbs so I really want to have faith in him but I'm like you, I just have a gut feeling that something is not quite right. Hopefully, I'm wrong. You know, I'm just so ready for him to stand and walk on his own. Right now, he barely stands at 14 mos. He behind because Dr. Dobbs started all over with him. Wish us luck. > , > I'm no expert so please take that under consideration. My daughter did the same thing (side of foot though) and our Ortho kept telling me it was fine. Guest guest
, I totally understand. Thankfully is just turning 12 mos and she's always stood on that darn brace so she's doing okay that way but she's not thrilled standing on her feet out of the brace. And with them on 23/7, there's not exactly much time to practice either. Let me know how it goes. Stubborn feet are certainly near and dear to my heart!
