Guest guest
It's interesting you should say that your thyroid medication has had to be adjusted. On my regular WLS support group there are several people who post WLS have had to have their thyroid medication adjusted upwards after surgery. I wonder if this has something to do with absorption or if the hormonal changes from weight loss make a difference in the thyroid function, since it is a hormonally influenced thing. Anyway, congrats on the NO GESTATIONAL DIABETES!! Boy what a nice hurdle to not have to climb while you're pregnant. Guest guest
And I am the opposite. Since my RNY and thruought my post-op pregnancy my Synthroid was consistingly needing to go down. Not sure why, but I am on a WAY lower dosage than I was pre-op. Guest guest
Did you guys have thyroid problems prior to WLS? Just wondering if an underactive thyroid may occur post surgery due to the trauma and hormonal changes. Didn't even think to ask about it, so glad it has been brought up:) a
