Hi, my name is . I am ONLY 11 and 1/2 weeks post-op and I am

pregnant. My last period was April 11 so I guess that makes me about

6 weeks preg. From what I've been reading it sounds like things could

turn out o.k. I have a son who is almost 11 and have wanted another

baby for a long time. I was infertile before the surgery and didn't

think that it would reverse this quickly. I hope this question

doesn't sound selfish but it's the one that I can't seem to find an

answer to. Will I still be able to reach my goal weight???? I have

lost about 67 lbs so far, but would like to lose another 80 lbs. Does

anyone think this is possible? Will I lose wt during pregnancy,

after, or both??? On one hand I tried sooo hard for sooo long to have

this surgery and on the other hand I tried long and hard to get

pregnant. I am just not sure that I feel so good about the timing.

Not only am I fresh post-op but I am the only one working right now.

I need any advice that I can get because I am so lost right now. It

would sure be appreciated.

Wow, I don't know what to say. I think in the long run you can have both, the

weigh loss and a healthy baby outta this. There have been women on this group

fresh outta surgery like yourself that went on to have healthy babies and

also lost weight during the pregnancy. Don't deliberately try to diet, you will

lose anyways. Make sure to take all you vitamins and supplements, get the doc

to give you prenatals and take 800 mcg folic acid daily also to help prevent

birth defects. Eat the best nourishing things you can. You will do fine I think.

I lost 140 pounds before I was prego and still had 70 to go to goal but i

know I will take the rest off after. Your main window frame of losing here is

12-18 months and most of that is the first 12 so I really think you are going to

lose weight during this pregnancy like the rest early postops have. Good LUck

with everything and Congratulations on both your surgery and you pregnancy.

Don't worry yourself sick. Everything will work out just the way it is

suppose too. God wanted this to happen for a reason. I have read on here that

you

will gain a small amount, lose during your preg, or not gain anything during

your preg.
