No, Ava's never had any problems at all. There was some redness on

occasion, but nothing severe, and no worse than anyone else on here

from what I've read. It was usually if I had a thinner pair of socks

on her...a thicker pair & she would be just fine. And that's the

biggest reason I can think of that we've never had ANY trouble with

the FAB...besides all the wonderful advice we've gotten from this

group, that is! :-P I would seriously recommend giving that a try to

anyone having trouble with the shoes. I was so ready for anything

when Ava started the FAB--I was ready for her feet to pop out, slip,

blisters, etc. And it was so easy! I really couldn't figure out what

all the fuss was about! I couldn't understand what was so hard about

it. But it took me this long to put 2 and 2 together and realize I

didn't use the tongues, and see how much more difficult it would be

if you did use them. So PLEASE try taking the tongues out if you're

having any trouble with the shoes.

,

I'm curious, because I've never done this personally and I want to make

sure I have the details correct. But do you put the strap under the laces

or over them (and over the outside of the boot) when you don't use the

tongue? It seems to me that the strap would be uncomfortable at best if it

was right against the skin and it'd need to go over the top of the shoe but

since I've never done it, I don't know.

Thanks!

Kori,

The strap is under the laces. It's against the sock, and honestly,

she has never had one tiny little bit of trouble. There's no mark

specifically made by the strap--you know, like I can't see a " strap

line " when I take the shoes off. I pull the strap fairly tight, but

I probably don't need to pull it as tight as I would with the

tongues, because I can cinch the laces pretty tight also. It's like

the work of keeping the shoe on is fairly well balanced between the

strap and the laces.

Am I really the only mom who does this? If so, I will be more

diligent about suggesting it to anyone just going into the shoes,

especially if they're having trouble keeping little tiny baby feet

in them. I guess if you were really worried you could put a little

piece of moleskin or something under the strap. The tongue is just

SOOOO big & thick, I find it very difficult to use.

Hi

I haven't used the tongues on my sons' shoes for a long time now but the

last pair of shoes started to leave a really red mark on the bridge of his

foot. I got a new pair of shoes 2 weeks ago which are actually too big and I

have left the tongues in to see if I can get rid of the red mark which I

hate. He now has like red lines across the top of his foot and can pull them

off. He is just starting to dislike the shoes on the bar even though he

walks every where with them on he just seems to not like them and apparently

we have 2 years to go as he is nearly 2. I just wish he didn't have red

marks at all. I will probably take these tongues out soon to see if it gets

any better but I can't seem to win either way........

Rach, Steve & Connor b/l c/f - 2 tomorro - where did that go???
