Guest guest
Alright already!!! For pete's sake!!! My computer was down for awhile and to be truthfully honest, seeing no results and having such a very hard time with , I just didn't have anything to contribute because nothing was happening. It was hard reading so many posts where everyone was doing great...so I just stepped back a little...plus I couldn't remember my password. LOL Apparently I've done that a few times on yahoo and have a few different passwords with different ID's. I couldn't figure out how to get back here til ee forwarded me some of the posts!! Thanks guys for missing me!!! I've been emailing with , so hopefully I've been able to help with the toe walking... 's update: Thank you Lord!!!!!! He is 17 months next week. While he is still on his toes, this last week has been an amazing week. He will put his right foot flat now. (Progress) He also can climb onto the kitchen chair and the kitchen table, the sofa, the top of the sofa, the toilet, up and down the stairs...(alternating feet for push off) Yay! Not only that, but now when I pick him up and go to set him down, he will actually stand. He will no longer automatically put his feet up when I go to set him on the floor. I almost broke his knees as I was putting him down so hard and then bam! His feet were in the way!! He has walked in therapy, which we are now doing 3-4 days a week. It's been nuts, but sooooo worth it. Thank God for physical therapy. We've taken the wedges out from between his heels and the shoes and he's doing really well, still tippy toed...but He also no longer screams when forcing him to stand flat..., force your as often as you can to put his feet flat on the ground when he stands. Suffer through the screaming and do it. It may take awhile and progress may be a long time in coming, but it will come. And keep those darn shoes on!!! We are looking into a botox treatment for his calves. It would be one shot in each numbed area on the calf to relax those muscles to the point that he will automatically stand flat by the time the botox wears off he will have stretched them enough that it will be comfortable to stand on them...at least that's the goal. The PT is calling Dr. Ponseti on that to see what he says and then if he approves we'll head to cardiologist. It is something dr. p was going to do during the castings, but decided against it. so we shall see. But thank you all for your prayers and advice and encouragement...I got the password, I've got this bookmarked and I'm getting caught up on posts! Yeah, I am woman, call me Glacier!! ROFLMAO Thanks guys, ALicia 10-09-03 atypical bl cf > > > 's son is having a similar problem I think - toe walking, > >perhaps you and she should talk. > > > s. > > > > >Speaking of , where is she? Guest guest
oops, I meant head to the neurologist for the botox treatment... I know alot of people posted awhile ago about botox, what was the general feeling for it? I never really read any of those as I had no idea what they were... > > > > 's son is having a similar problem I think - toe walking, > > >perhaps you and she should talk. > > > > s. > > > > > > >Speaking of , where is she? Guest guest
Gosh no. Don't you dare apologize for your kid excelling!!!!!!!! Don't you dare! I have always been so happy to hear one of the kids doing great things and progressing. It's just hard when it's not yours and it just got so hard to contribute advice when you have no idea if it's working or not. And he was just so stubborn for so long, little stinker, same old thing...kwim? I know his muscles still bother him though, so we continue to stretch! man is he getting an attitude though!! OIY! No, please don't apologize. That wasn't the point. I have truly made peace with whatever happens happens and I will just push him to wherever he can go, but to read so many doing well at that time...well, I just kinda needed a break. That's all. But I am so happy for all the ones that are doing good. It is such an accomplishment and such an answer to many prayers!! But thanks shawnee for your encouragement! And I am so excited to hear how well everrett's doing...jealous, but excited nontheless!! > Aw honey, we're sorry. > s. > > truthfully honest, seeing no results and having such a very hard time with , I just > didn't have anything to contribute because nothing was happening.
