Do you have a 'stationery' set as your regular email background? Or music

perhaps? If so, it won't show on this list but it could leave the description

of it... just a thought.

That is so cool! Go little man! I'm very interested in the 's

because the soles are relatively flat on the floor, and it'd seem to make

walking (without support) that much easier for these little ones. Darbi

doesn't really walk without support, but I've seen her balance without

holding on and attempt it. Only problem is the padding, which makes the

bar somewhat unstable. But I'm not foregoing the padding because we've got

hardwoods throughout the house and they don't really need that kind of

abuse with the clamps and all.

Darbi used to push things around the house all the time before she was

actually walking (while in her brace) but once she started walking (without

the brace) she stopped doing that and just crawls. But it was so darn

cute! Way to go Everett!!

Yea! Way to go Everett! I can only imagine how excited you must be,

it seems like it will be forever before Sammy starts walking, but the

months will fly by I'm sure!

I'm very happy for you. This is a very exciting news.

But I don't quite understand how can a kid walk with

the bar? Did you mean the " bar " when you said he

walked in his brace? Or this is something different

than DBB?

They just do it. If they can hold and push something, they just pick up

one side and move it forward and then the other and so on pushing whatever

it is along the floor in front of them (Darbi liked chairs and stools, the

rolling ones went to quick for her and she'd fall). My cousin wore the DBB

when she was 3 in the mid 70's and she would walk all over the house with

it on holding onto nothing.

I think as these kids who wear the brace get old enough (it's only

been around for a little over a year or so) we're going to be hearing about

them walking unaided in it a lot. The soles are about flat on the floor

whereas the other braces are installed above the bar with some major

hardware so it's tippy. If you're on the CFPics group you can look in the

Foot Abduction folder in the photos section and see the bottom of the

shoes to see what I'm talking about.

I'm sorry for any confusion - yes, he's walking as he wears the DBB. They just

have to take straight legged steps, like a robot or something but it can be

done!

The things that these kids can do while wearing the brace is just

amazing!

What an amazing little guy! I didn't believe that babies could crawl in their

DBB, but when Billy started - WOW. Now I can't wait to see him taking a few

steps in his DBB. I can sense that you are thrilled with his great achievement.

Way to go, there's no stopping him now.

I wore a DBB when I was a kid and my mom says I was able to walk all

over in it w/o holding on to anything. I wore it off and on for

different periods even up to age 6. I don't remember it too much, I

remember what it looked like, black and white saddle shoes w/ the red

bar but I don't really remember the experience of wearing it -- except

for the Dr. telling me to walk like a duck, so I would walk around in

it quacking and flapping my arms.
