I will tell you that when one is induced and with an epidural... the rate of C Section does jump up to " probable " . The biggest reason is that the body isn't allowed to do it naturally... Walking the halls and letting gravity do its job does really help progress the labor. I am not telling you this to scare you by any means... but to make sure you don't have any false hopes. Many woman get so upset by not having the " natural birth " and feel sorta left out of the whole birthing process. I am here to tell you that a C Section is NOT that bad! In fact.... I was up the next day.. the pain killers were great... and as long as you make a point to get up and walk EVERY day.. you will be just Fine! The staples did pull a bit... but it was NOTHING compared to my Open Rny The only part I didn't like was the Foly Catheter..... but I was able to pee just fine after they took it out the next day and they made me lie flat for 12 hours to avoid Spinal Headache. Morning can be a bit stiff in moving around.. just go gently. Best part about a C Section???? Your baby doesn't have 'Cone head " or " Smush Face " I know you have a whole week to think about this... but do the best you can to relax and focus on the new baby you have been waiting for! Guest guest
, Thanks so much for your wealth of info. Giving me a frame of reference by comparing it to what the open RNY feels like helps alot. If it isn't as bad as the RNY, (mine was open too), then I'm not that worried. Docs are still telling me to take it easy so I'm doing my best there but I'm wondering if that may be why I have not dilated at all. This weekend I'm going to do some squatting and stuff like that to really make sure she is dropped into my pelvis in the hopes that it will help me start dilating some. Since we are starting the gels the evening before my induction I will have plenty of time to walk around in the hopes that it will help. Axelrod Inductions.. was/ OB gave me a date!!
