Guest guest
Oh my... I am 8 weeks preggers today.. Go ME! While my pouch can hold quite a bit for only 4 months out...( I think my surgeon did that on purpose because I am of childbearing age) I can no longer hold much food. I am lucky if I eat 3x a day.. and really need to get in as much as I can. Last night we went out to dinner.. and I ordered a big hamburger... Only ate half the burger and a piece of the top bun... a few fries.. that's it. This morning... dh was off work today and bought me a DD coffee and a cin/raisen bagel w/cream cheese. Normally I can eat the entire bagel.. in about 30 min... I am full but not in pain.. but can't fit another bite. I ate half and couldn't eat another bite. ( I eat a bagel and cream cheese usually 1x a week on Sunday.. it is a treat for me and NOT part of my daily diet... I was crucified in another OSSG group for saying I ate a bagel... the Food Police are MEAN!!!) Between my tummy not holding enough food and my nausea..... not good.. not good. I can't eat poultry.. it gags me... I can't eat meat if I cook it.. I can't smell it cooking or I won't eat it... Hubby is bringing me home some 's chili for lunch... I was living off of Cheese.. but now I am tired of cheese... it gags me now too. I am getting real close to ordering some NECTAR... hoping I can swallow that.. I just need to get enough protein in for ME.. I know the baby will take what it needs from my body... but I need to be healthy enought to carry and care for new baby and my little monster boy Noah. Speaking of Noah...he is going thru some terrible 2 times at 17 months?? He got mad at me because I told him NO yesterday... so he started to hit me.. because he was mad... I firmly held the Hitting hand and said " NO hit... do NICE " (making a nice gentle motion)... Well... Noah snarled like a little animal.. shook his head and then tried to bite me... The touched his lips and firmly said NO BITE and then put him on the floor and walked away.. while he threw a little tantrum... then he was happy and fine. I tell you.. my sweet little boy has HOT temper which I am consistently trying to work on with him NOW... I don't spank.. as I can't see saying no hit.. and then hitting him?? Any advice from Non spanking parents on how to handle such behavior in a gentle, loving , yet FIRM way??? 17 months is a bit young to " reason " with....especially since my son is delayed.. but that isn't an excuse. - Mommy to: Noah - 10/14/02 - 31 weeker - 3lbs 11 oz edd November 18th m/c 7/04 Open RNY 12/3/03.... -49 lbs gone and counting
Guest guest
OMG, I forgot about those terrible twos. They do start about noahs age too even though they call it 2''s. i am of no help here since I do tap their little butts when needed, well not needed everytime but when they have pushed me to the end of my rope. When they we tiny like Noah I did not spank them but I tapped their fingers when they hit and tapped their lips if they bit and they actually stopped right away. It was hard with twins since they wanted to bite one another and hit one another but we managed. he will get out of it soon enough God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! I do " flick " for attention sometimes... Noah a smart one... he KNOWS what he is doing is bad... because he will wait until I am watching...look and me and smile and then do the naughty stuff.. Did I mention he is extra cranky 'cause he is teething? ARGGHHH!!!! I am trying to find the happy medium of parenting.. Both dh and I came from rather physically abusive homes.. and we are determined NOT to repeat that behavior... But I want to be careful not to go so far to the right and then have the most UN ruley kid on the block.. I am NOT saying that tapping on the behind is abusive... I am just paranoid of repeating my parents behaviors.. I better figure this out before #2 gets here... or I will be Done for! - Mommy to: Noah - 10/14/02 - 31 weeker - 3lbs 11 oz edd November 18th m/c 7/04 Open RNY 12/3/03.... -51 lbs gone and counting
Guest guest
, Oh I know what you mean by NOOOOO poultry!! The thought of chicken makes me wanna barf!! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!! I cant say that my food intake has gotten less being 22 weeks out. I actually think I can eat quite a bit!! I am not to worried about that but I wanted to suggest something to you.. Even though I cannot eat chicken or any kind of poultry for some reason I am addicted to boiled eggs!! I wasn't getting in enough protein til I started eating them. The other thing I eat alot of is Deli meat. I know your sick of cheese I am in that boat too but I usually take a peice of light string cheese and wrap it with a couple slices of light deli ham!! Its so weird.. I could eat veggies all day long and stay away from meat all together.. I dunno what my deal is with all meat but i have to pretty much make myself eat meat... EGGS are my godsend this pregnancy!! I know what you mean about the food police too!! I wouldnt worry to much about eating a bagel every once in a while.. I eat them sometimes too... Heck, I made my hubby run to the store at 1am for bannana split blue bell icecream!! Granted I only at 1/4 of one of those little bity containers and I was done where as before I ate probably 2 containers!! That was all I needed now I dont crave it anymore!! Good luck with everything!! If you find any good ways to get in protein let me know!! although I cant drink protein drinks i dunno what my deal is but they make me sick baddddd!! lol Huggerss Preggo with Evelyn Rose Due August 17th mommy to Ethan 5years old and hubby 25 going on 12..lol
Guest guest
, As far as your eating, since this isn't your first pregnancy, I'm sure you know that during the first trimester you don't have to worry too much about eating as the baby will get what it needs. Try to get in what you can and don't stress yourself too much about the eating, it will come. I may have some helpful tips for Noah's temper tantrums as I have seen this TONS as a daycare teacher and the lead teacher of the 1 and 2 year olds classes. In classes such as the ones I taught, sometimes with up to 10 two year olds at a time, inevitably there will be one child who expresses their frustration with biting, this then teaches the other children to bite. The worst time when most of these biting incidents would happen is when it was diaper changing time. I had to wrack my brain as to how to show the children who did bite that I didn't want them to do this, but I knew that sitting them in " time-out " wouldn't work as they would not stay in the chair for one minute, especially when they were mad. What I ended up doing is when I did want them to sit a " time-out " for a few minutes to calm down I would put them in a high chair where I knew they would be safe but also contained. Maybe try this with Noah a couple of times so he can see you mean business but it is an appropriate " punishment " for a 17 month old. I hope you find something that works, I know how difficult this can be. Axelrod My food intake is shrinking.. :: sigh ::: Oh my... I am 8 weeks preggers today.. Go ME!
