Guest guest
Hillary thanks for that. I can't articulate as well as you do but I was sure Jodie was wrong about the midget thing. Twice in Imogen's life people who don't know any better have called her a midget (or asked if she is) and each time it upset me to the point of tears.Whether she is or she isn't (and thanks to your knowledge) she isn't...the term is nevertheless extreemley offensive and upsetting. But I know of course that Jodie didn't mean to upset anyone. I'm new to this site and from what I can gather Jodie has been an enormous source of help and advice to people. Just wanted to get the m word thing cleared up...and thanks to you Hillary I think we have! Eileen x Eileen x --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger - Communicate instantly... Guest guest
Hi Jodi,it's definately a growth disorder and form of dwarfism. My understanding is that it was discovered in the 1950's almost simultaneously by Proffessor in England and Proffessor Silver in the US.Hence /Silver Syndrome. I thought it was called RSS over here.and SRS where you are cos of that! Maybe I got that wrong!!! Hope little is well ! It was explained to me that most people think of dwarfs as having disproportionate limbs to their bodies, but those with RSS are proportionate, but still considered dwarfs. Simply because they do have the shortness in stature. But, yes, you can also say that RSS is a growth disorder. One of my cousins is an Achondroplasia dwarf. Just what I have been told, Jodi R.
