Guest guest
... has me concerned. My son is in special ed preschool with a speech/language therapist (pathologist?). He's there for 3 hours, two days a week. He is waiting..waiting..waiting.. to get into OT, which he's been approved for 1 hour a week. So when the OT starts he will be getting only 7 hours of therapy a week. is 3 1/2 with a diagnosis of high functioning autism/PDD (written just like that). I think he should have more services than what he's getting but the therapist says no to everything I suggest. For instance, ABA. I asked her about that (I don't even really know what it is myself) and her reply was that it wouldn't fit with s needs. She thinks he's too high functioning (she doesn't believe he is autistic, she thinks he has SID/DIS)to be in an ABA class, he would be bored and wouldn't fit in. Where can I find info on how to get more services? I don't even know what is available for my son. I've asked this question so many times to different people in authority but have yet to get an exceptable answer. Most of the time its a shrug of the shoulders and a sympathetic look. Would the IEP books someone mentioned in an earlier post be helpful and comprehensive? Do you sometimes feel as if you are cramming so much information in such a short time that your head is in danger of exploding? ;0) Jeannie
