Guest guest
, In our state we have disability lawyers that are free of charge. My son had some problems this year too with biting. I don't think they can get ride of him without a behavioral intervention done and then when that has been implemented and all avenues are exhausted then they can expel from school, but they have to by law provide 3 hours a week in education. This is what I was told in our state it could be different state to state. Just check with your special education department in your education service center. There are lots of groups that are national organizations that are advocates for the rights of DD individuals. Check with your local Autism society. Guest guest
Hang in there sweetheart!!!!!!!! You need to call the state IDEA people. You need to get yourself(your son) a trained, educated ADVOCATE!!! Many times they are FREE!!!! This person will tell you what to do. You should have a copy of the State Laws, the school is required by law to provide them to you at each meeting. If you have misplaced them, call the school in the AM and get a copy, ASAP! Go to the BOOKSTORE or Library and get a copy of an IEP guide. There are several out there, and go step by step with what to do, in even this case. Ask the school in the AM for copies of all his files, the comments teachers made in the past will be in there, maybe ONE teacher understands you son. If not, at least you will know what they do think, and you can fight with information against what they said.(You also, in the future can have them remove anything you do not agree with- that's another battle). You should know what you are up against. Admitting that your son's behavior was wrong, will go a long way! Many parents can not do this. Asking them to help you help him is nothing to be ashamed of. They should want to help! After all, that's their job. I do not know your whole situation of course, but it is my understanding that they have to provide your son with a FREE AND APPROPRIATE EDUCATION. Someone else can help me explain that better! Thanks. Also have someone else go with you besides the ADVOCATE

Guest guest
, my grandson was expelled from school for his behavior. He is going to a therapist for his behavior now and an evaluation. They sent a teacher to our home for one hour daily where she gives him one on one with some homework to do when she is gone. They do have to provide him with an education.
