Guest guest
With me, I know that she is going through a lot to give us a child so I don't initiate anything anymore...we do not have sex until she asks for it...so then I know she can take it...has any of you experienced vaginal dryness during pregnancy...e has to lay there and concentrate to get in the mood and become " Ready " ...before she got prgnant...she was ready before she hit the bed...and now she never has a sex drive...usually women's drive heightens when she becomes pregnant... Guest guest
Adam My sex drive died during my pregnancy with my daughter. Ijust didn't feel like it. I was tired and achy and my body was changing in ways I never expected. It was a lot to deal with. Being so tired I was not ready and would go days or weeks without wanting it. Guest guest
I have been having the same problem. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm 29. My support group suggested upping my water intake. I was so darn tired, my knees would almost buckle and I have lost over 100 lbs so far! I started making sure I was getting atleast my 64oz and it has make a huge difference! I have the energy to chase my kids and do laundry! Hope this helps! V OKC- Bypass 11-03 EDD 11-5-04 Date: Sun, 09 May 2004 22:40:37 -0000 Subject: no energy...? Hi all I was reading what Vickie said about having no energy. Well neither do I. Everyone who is " normal " keeps telling me how I'm supposed to get this great kick of energy in my second trimester. Shoot...I haven't seen it yet! I'm 4 1/2 months or a little more and I'm feeling depleted! I'm taking my prenatals and trying to eat right and I'm just wiped out. Is this because we are wls patients and have malabsorption that I feel like this? I haven't gained anything according to the doc's scale at the last appt. I AM eating a bit more than I was but that's to be expected with baby growing etc. So what's the deal....? Aaliyah --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
make absolutely CERTAIN your Doctors are checking your hemoglobin, hematocrit w/ microcytic indices, B12, Serum iron, ferritin and transferritin levels BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your pregnancy. Even with prenatals and extra vitamins, my levels were critcally low and now 1 year post delivery, we are just finding the problem that was present DURING pregnancy. These aren't routine during pregnancy and all of my levels were GREAT PRE-pregnancy, so they didn't follow them DURING pg! A hemoglobin and serum iron level of 8 will make you NON ENERGETIC! Guest guest
I am pre-OB and getting prepped for OB My lack of energy sent me to a hematologist who discovered I had iron deficiency anemia which required transfusion of IV iron for 12 weeks I am now on wonderful vitamins for bariatric surgery patients called bariatric advantage the iron prep especially important for us women as we lose iron with our periods most iron gets absorbed in the duodenum--ours is bypassed so other iron preparations pass in our stool bariatric advantage vitamins do not require an acidic environment (which our pouches do not have) so they are absorbed better let me know if anyone needs more info Aimee Lacour son RN Bariatric Surgery Sequoia Hospital 170 Alameda de las Pulgas Rm 110 Redwood City, CA 94062 Tel Fax Re: no energy...? make absolutely CERTAIN your Doctors are checking your hemoglobin, hematocrit w/ microcytic indices, B12, Serum iron, ferritin and transferritin levels BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your pregnancy. Guest guest
Aimee, I am 18 months post delivery and am currently recieving iron infusions for my iron deficiency anemia. Did you get one treatment daily or weekly? The package insert says one per day (I am an RN and I am giving them to myself (& me & my best friend). My hematologist only ordered 2 per week, but the package insert says one per day. Just wondering what your experience was. I also take bariatric vits formulated especially by a bariatric surgeon in Oregon. Sheila, L&D/NICU RN
Guest guest
I had 1 per week because they are so constipating I take Ferrlecit (sp) which is a new iron which has less chance of reaction Iron Dextran can cause anaphylaxis so make sure you have benadryl and decadron available My doc has seen lots of anaphylaxis with other iron preps so they pre med me and watch me like a hawk But I feel great My Hemoglobin went from 6 to 13.9 Ferretin from 4 to 40 So it works! Guest guest
My hematologist was concerned with anaphylaxis also, but I told him I live 46 seconds from the closest ER and I work PRN in the ER too, so I can take it to work for them to give it to me as well. I do have an Epi pen here just in case, til I could make it to the ER. I can't wait to have a hemoglobin of 14 again! I can't imagine! Last count, I had dropped to 7.3 so that's when he started the infusions/injections. I am sooooooo looking forward to some energy!! Thanks!
