Guest guest
We use flax oil on cooked gfcf pasta, much like you might margarine. My son doesn't do spaghetti sauce and is allergic to garlic, so we put a bit of flax oil, onion powder, and vegan parmesan cheese on it and he scarfs it right up. I've also heard folks use it as margarine on toast. It has a slightly nutty taste which no one in my family seems to mind, or notice, if I slip it in. Re: flax seed (or meal is actually what I have used...) When we were egg free there was a way we used it with egg replacer in our cookies, cakes, etc. I learned that the flax meal I was using was useless for essential oils when heated, but it was still good for fiber. Kirkman's has a flax meal they swear is more stable and can be used in baking. I've ordered it to throw in things to get the oils and fiber in general baking. I like the idea of throwing it on a sandwich, maybe as a garnish on other dishes. The flavor really is benign as compared to fish oil. Hope this helps, in Texas
