Guest guest
Hi Cythia, Or doc says 2.5, I am going to go with the 3-4 range. Relapse at 3 and casting etc. would not be pleasant. Guest guest
That is interesting that he said that... We didn't start seeing him until my daughter was 2 1/2. The main reason we switched doctors was because the other doctor was making noises about releasing her from the shoes, but I had learned from this board that children should wear the shoes longer than 2 years... Even though my daughter has a very mild clubfoot and didn't need a tenotomy, at the 3 year check with Dr. H, I could tell he thought she was ready to stop using the shoes, but he decided to keep her in them longer. About 3 months later she was having a horrible time sleeping. I'm still not sure if it was the shoes or just a difficult time for her developmentally. Since she has been out of the shoes, we've had periods where she wakes during the night. We have found that more exercise has helped tremendously.... She has a hard time with balance, so she tends to be sedentary...
