What are your hobbies?

What are you passionate about?

Do you have any particular special skills or training??

There are companies that hire people to work from home on a subcontractor

basis.

There are " party " companies... I know a few gals who are over passionate

about scrapbooking.. and make a wonderful extra income with scrapbooking parties

and make money ( $10 to $15 a page) creating scrapbooks for others.

There is a new party company up and coming.. " Big Yellow Box " by Crayola.

I think they are launching June sometime...

They are family focus and spending time with the kids.. creative projects and

family time.

Discovery Toys... Bright Minds... all child related companies.

Check out

There are some great listings available there.

I am passionate about child safety.. and am an independent rep for

Please be careful of companies that promise " thousands " of dollars a month...

Only a select few ever really reach that point...

Of course my family comes first.. and income is directly related to effort. :)

I tried child care in my home and it sucked, really sucked. And I also think

if you want to sstay home the first year to be close with your baby you do not

need another child around, at least not someone elses. JMO, but i was so glad

to get rid of my day care kids.

I supplement ours by doing freelance magazine articles and by doing

watercolor paintings and selling them on eBay.

include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50

I have a couple of friends who go to boutique stores and sell their

last-year stock for them on commission on eBay.

I make quilts. Small and large. Wall hangings and table runners. But for all

of those plus what Kris mentioned, you need some sort of talent. Find out what

you have a talent in and go for it. Selling your babies clothes on e-bay will

bring in some money too. I did that. My boys are now 4 and 2 1/2 and wear out

their clothes before I can resell them now! bummer

we need the help ! Go back to nursing school! A friend of mine

got called last week by her former boss asking her to travel 30 miles

to a hospital in the next county for $47/hr. Now, you can't beat that

income with a stick- especially in the hills of Kentucky!

:)

we need more nurses!!!!!!!!! I am so very thankful that I had already

gotten married 2 years into college and I stuck to my guns and when

he started whining about the lack of time I was spending with him

compared to the sometimes 18-20 hr nursing

school/clinical/homework/careplan days. Of course, the marriage

failed but I graduated!! We all make choices and have to live with

them. I often say if I had it to do all over again, I would probably

do everything the same way, but I would know where and what things I

shoulda/coulda done differently.

:)

(oh, by the way, I filled out my application with the company my

friend used to work for. hehehehe)

I am starting nursing in the spring.. finishing getting all my pre-

reqs out of the way! I am really excited about it! Taking good ole

anatomy and physiology this summer.. FUN!!! Could go into the program

this fall - but with giving birth in the semester.. I thought it best

to not do that.

How long does it take to complete your RN once you are in a program?

I did a paper route and took Connor with me! The money

isn't the greatest, but if you really buckle up the spending

belt, you can do it. I was going to stay home with Connor

the first 8 months (my job gave me 9 months off) but then I

decided I wanted to stay home indefinitely. He will be 2

next month. Hubby has picked up overtime and money has been

saved in my not having to wear professional clothing

anymore. It's not easy, but if you can cut back on some

things, it can be done. Let us know what you come up with!!

I agree with Robin! Doing babysitting out of your house

really stinks. My sister has her own daycare in her house

and she barely gets a chance to even go grocery shopping!

Maybe you can offer limited hours? Also, I wouln't bet on

being able to do it for a while until you learn the baby's

routine. If the baby doesn't sleep through the night for a

long time, you'll want to be able to nap during the day,

etc. I think I would try any route other than babysitting

out of your house.

,

I just moved to TN from south FL. Cape Coral. Anyway,

check with the hospitals. MANY of them offer free schooling

programs (surg. tech, CNA, HHA, PCT, etc) if you agree to

work with them part-time during the schooling and stick with

them for a year after. I did the CNA program and didn't

have to pay a dime of it. I ended up getting injured a

month after finishing the program, so I don't do it anymore,

but its something to look into. Hope that helps:)

Robin,

that's funny you should mention that. Before I had kids, I did day care in my

home and hated it. Didn't think much of the kids either and was not very good

with them. I never hurt them or anything of the sort but sometimes I wanted

to!!! i was worried and called my friend. I said " I am so afraid that when I

have kids of my own, if I'm with them 24 hours a day and they're anything like

this, I will hurt them " . She said " don't worry. When they're someone elses

kids you think " WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM!!??!! " but when they're your own,

you think " awww, honey, what's wrong?? " and it's true. I can't handle other

peoples kids for any length of time but am a good mother to mine. Not that I

don't raise my voice or every once in a while give them a smack on the bottom.

but I don't have the desire to strangle them!! haha. So, in my opinion, day

care is a hard job.

I do a couple of things. I make soap and candles. Kind of expensive

start-up costs. I also do financial planning for Primerica. It's a

part of Citigroup. They are all over the country and are always

looking for people to do part time work. You don't need a degree,

just a leadership personality and the deisre to teach people how to

become financially independent. They train you.

Stay at home Moms*supplement income?

I'm planning on being a stay at home Mom for at least the first year

of my child's life. Money is going to be EXTREMELY tight. I was

trying to think of ways to being in additional income while being at

home. I'm seriously thinking about babysitting, but at the same time

having to worry about other people's children. We all know that some

people don't care how their children act at home or out in public. I

just don't want to get a little terror making my life difficult. I

don't want to have to discipline a child and then I become the bad

person in the parent's eyes.

Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I can do to supplement

my income?

Thanks
