Guest guest
My brother (age 36) has severe vitiligo patches all over his face. Started out just under his eyes--when he came for thanksgiving last November his whole face has patches all over it. He has some symptoms of MELAS but not diagnosed. My sister was diagnosed, we suspect my mother died from it, my son and I are officially diagnosed so he most likely has it. I also have some symptoms of vitiligo--I have white patches under my arms and since I was 20 I have had a white patch of hair. Janet Sample Re: Crohn's??? Hi : My son who has been diagnosed with mitochondrial disorder also has vitiligo. Our immunologist did not think it was related. Another problem that my son has is chronic diarrhea. Do you have a treatment regime that you follow for the vitiligo. thanks Jim > > I also wonder about autoimmune issues with mito. I have a positive ANA and 2 autoimmune diseases ( hashimoto's and vitiligo). It seems you just can't have just one autoimmune diesase -once you get one- your body seems to keep finding ways to keep attacking itself. > > >
