Ann, I don't think there is any such thing as a "little" pleurisy. I've had it and it's OK as long as you don't breathe! Every breath was like having a heart attack! I was one sick puppy. Of course, I got it after the flu, pneumonia, the flu again, and then pleurisy. I was home in bed for two months! Thank God you went to the doctor right away, you don't want to let that settle in your chest! I think my problem was that I have such a nice, big chest that once it found a good home, it wasn't about to leave!! Please take care of yourself, OK? Stay warm, lots of liquids, and lots of rest! Love, Judy bronchitis I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post. I called the Dr.yesterday and they got me in right away. He said I had a little pleurisy. And put me on a different antibiotic. I feel much better to day.Cathy, they did the ct scan last month everything was o.k.Thanks again,AnnDISCLAIMER!!WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY. Kimber,

thanks. Today was a much better day. I think the worst of the bronchitis

is over. Between that and the surgery, it really kicked my butt. However,

my pancreas seems to be behaving itself pretty well the last few days.

,

I am glad to hear that the bronchitis is on it's way out the door. Take

it easy and don't overdo it now that you are starting to feel better.

If you feel you need to cough and can't because of weak muscles, ask your

physician about orderign a cough assit device. These units make a big

difference for individuals with post polio syndrome and/or some of the

dystrophies.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad.

You can try laying over your bed with your head hanging off and face

down and try coughing that way. You get the assist of gravity that

way. My sons with asthma did this when young.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks to you all. I ended up seeing my pulmo today because I am not better. He

did a chest xray which did not show pneumonia- thank goodness! But my breathing

tests he did were quite low and he feels my respiratory muscles are weakening

more overall and certaintly aren't being helped by me being sick. He upped the

prednisone with a slower taper and added another antibiotic.I go back to see him

next week. I hope these meds kick in soon.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Do you have a nebulizer machine? I don't like to use mine as much as I

should, but it is the only way I can get better when I am dealing with

an infection and my asthma gives me problems. Just an idea.
