Ava is 10mnths today. She just started cruising the furniture on her

own. Only a few steps. She walks when we hold her hands. When she

kicks her legs to step out it's very exaggerated, you have to laugh.

It's as if she is anticipating heavy legs and just throws them out

there. She is bilat CF. Her feet are sometimes turned out, straight

or her R turns in a little. She too will drag a foot on occassion, I

just chalk it off to not having all the coordination needed yet.

IYKWIM. But it is only the right foot that is out and he doesn't

exactly lift it with every step, he drags it most of the time. He

steps with his good foot normally.

we are all individuals and he'll walk however he wants to as long as

Hi, Sharon-

We used to have this discussion come up quite often on this board

years ago- and I'm surprised that it hasn't been discussed more

recently! Yes, it's perfectly normal and will go away!

We referred to 's initial walking as " Charlie Chaplin " -like. I

can assure you that it's completely expected, and over time his foot

will turn forward when he walks and he'll have a normal gait. I

can't tell you how long- just be assured that it will happen. It's

so gradual, that you won't even notice it. Eventually you'll just

see that it happened! :)

No worries!

Regards,
