Guest guest
Dear Mitoldies, Thank you for your responses to my query regarding the vomiting of blood. I did indeed have a rather large bleeding ulcer and ended up at Stanford University Medical Center. Two units of blood and a new prescription added to my ever expanding collection, I am home and feeling much better. The biopsy did not indicate any abnormal cells or Heliobacter so the cause of the ulcer is assumed to be due to hyperacidity from the chronic gastroparesis of my MELAS. There will be a follow-up endoscopy at the end of January to check on healing. From a personal stand point I feel fine. I do thank the input from members. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season, a
