Guest guest
I remember distinctly what I ate, as I was STILL having morning sickness and only carbs worked for me.I had a piece of bagel. They didn't specify what I had to eat either. Guest guest
I had the GD with my last two pgs so I felt I needed the test. When I had my glucose test done I brought the bottle home and was reading it and it said it was carbonated and since I have absolutely stayed away from any carbonation I called the drs office and told them I couldnt drink the syrup because of that reason and she called back and had me do the " jellybean " test. I had to eat 18 Brachs brand jellybeans just like the liquid, 1 hr before my appt and within 15 mins start to finish. Unfortunately I can tolerate sugar just fine so the jellybeans were not a problem for me. I am 33 wks today and have gained 4 lbs this pregnancy. Hey , i'm 1 year post op and 31 weeks pregnant...i took the glucose test a few weeks ago, my doctor had me fast overnight then drink orange juice...as long as it has 50 grams of sugars..so i wound up drinking two juice boxes that were 26grams of sugar each...it's better than glucola, but you can still get nauseated because you have to drink it pretty fast, it worked for me...it may for you as well...ask your OB to check with the lab to ok it.....good luck to you.....Meko > hello all! > I searched the archived messages for this answer as I know its been > discussed before (sorry). > I'm at 23 weeks now but my doctor wrote out for my glucose test for > June 7th.
