Guest guest
What you need to do is get ALL of the codes from your IVF clinic you would be using. THey will give you both Diagnoses codes AND Procedure codes. Tell them you want those codes for EVERYTHING, that includes your office visits and ultrasounds as well as all of the procedures such as mock transfer, sonohysterogram and everything for retrieval and transfer. You also want to ask them what ALL of the name of the meds are that they may put you on. Get all of them....so you can be sure you are covered or not covered for certain ones...even if they arn't sure exactly what combinations they would use on you yet. Then you can find out if your insurance will cover your fertility meds. THEN call your insurance carrier and ask them if they cover these diagnoses and procedure codes. DO NOT tell ask them " do you cover fertility treatments? " You'll get NO right out front. In the end...my insurance ended up covering " diagnostics " and NOT the retrieval and transfer. They ALSO covered ALL of my meds. Both fertility, birth control and antibiotics. I'm a little unsure why they say you won't have painful periods. I think maybe they say that because since they will put you on the pill (I was put on patch after having gastric bypass surgery so there were NO issues of whether or not the pill was being absorbed. The patch worked great!) and basically bring on your period when THEY want it to start. OR around that time anyway. I believe it makes those REALLY painful periods MUCH less painful for women. I know women are put on the pill sometimes to help them not have those horrible periods. And yes, if you get pg....there will be 9 months of no painful periods LOL...but there's other things to deal with LOL. I wish you tons of luck. It's great that you have another option to try to conceive. IF your insurance doesn't pay for anything than at least 1) you know and 2) you could find another IVF clinic with lower costs. Don't think they are all the same. THey are NOT! Sydney 27 weeks in vitro? I have always had painful periods, but since my miscarriage 14 months ago its worse, also I have been trying to get pg since my miscarriage with no luck, my doctor has now suggested invitro to give me 9+ months of relief from my cramps plus gets me the baby I have been trying for, my question is, I have 3 children and tricare prime, and I am wondering if insurance should cover such a treatment or if i need to sell the kids I have - just kidding but at least morgtage my house.( forgive spelling) ( tired- bunny duty all night) also i am heading for 35 so my eggs are aging daily. any response would be helpful. thanks and happy easter apryl Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:
Guest guest
there are fertility clinics that refund the money if a successful pregnancy is not achieved. (I'm uncertain if it's classified as " a pregnancy " or a " delivery of a live baby " ) so I don't know exactly the logistics of it. A friend of mine in San is the one who told me about it. I think the name of it is Pacific Fertility (?) somewhere in California. It's nice to know that if you must take out a second mortgage, your money is refundable if you aren't successful! Best wishes! I can tell you when I am ovulating and from what side since I was about 13...and to get pg was the treatment for the pain temporarily of course, besides to get my family finished. but again thanks for the info. was your invitro successful? apryl

Guest guest
Hi. They implanted three. And this little boy stuck. I was relieved (although thought twins would of been nice) that only one stayed...can't imagine TWO newborns at one time but would of welcomed them either way! Good luck!!!!
