Guest guest
One thing to realize is that your hormones have been bouncing up and down quite a bit recently. This will cause you to stall out on weight loss, especially when you've been pregnant and then had a miscarriage, etc. It could be a few months or more before you start losing again. This is assuming you're not still actively trying to conceive... the stress of monthly up-and-downs, combined with the surging hormones you'll get if you actually do conceive again... well, it's not exactly conducive to weight loss. Another thing you can do is to re-introduce protein shakes (if you have stopped doing them) and use one or two as meal replacements. Make sure they're sugar-free, or it won't do much good. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water, and that you're taking your Citracal (or Caltrate or whatever kind of calcium citrate you can find -- not calcium carbonate) because adequate calcium seems to have a major impact on weight loss. Sometimes it just takes a " shock " to your system in order to trick it back into a weight loss mode. Doing a major change in what you're taking in, can sometimes do the trick. Hope this helps... -Kris on 5/6/04 11:09 PM, Ndeatopanga@... at Ndeatopanga@... wrote: I KNOW THIS IS OFF WHAT THE BOARD IS ABOUT BUT IM SURE THERE ARE GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS IN HERE THAN CAN HELP ME SOME. Guest guest
I lost weight up until I was 20-21 months post-op. I really didn't do anything to break any plateaus. I do know that when I started drinking 8 glasses of water daily I dropped like 5 lbs and speedwalking helped too. HOW CAN I BREAK MY PLATEAU? OFF SUBJECT..... > I KNOW THIS IS OFF WHAT THE BOARD IS ABOUT BUT IM SURE THERE ARE GASTRIC > BYPASS PATIENTS IN HERE THAN CAN HELP ME SOME.
