Guest guest
- according to the experts, asymmetry does not suddenly " occur. " If he has it now, it is invariably that he had it before it just wasn't caught. Studies have also shown that asymmetry stays proportionate with growth, that it doesn't get worse. I am guessing that it wasn't caught before because it wasn't super noticable to the eye, or because the doctor didn't measure well. was not found to have asymmetry until she was gosh, I think 3 years old. And we also have had major variations in the " measurement " of her asymmetry. The only accurate measurement is an x-ray from hip down where the computer does the measuring..... hee hee. I would recommend not panicking. And go back in the archives and search for the words Scoliosis, or Orthorpedic or Asymmetry. I know I wrote an email in this past Sept or Oct with full info from our orthopedist on what to monitor and how to do it. Hope this helps!!! If Connor's measurements as you wrote below were from a pediatrician well-check, I would NOT take these as factual. They are not trained in how to do the measurements. I would make an appt with a pediatric orthopedist, and ask them to do the accurate measuring. If he does have asymmetry, he should then be followed once a year. Good luck!!!
