Ken-

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I dunno....my 38th birthday just

dosn't seem as much fun as, say, my 8th. Then again, 40 is almost

here and that one seems even MORE distressing .

As for the deep fried Oreos...I'm from NY. The only deep fried

fair/carnival food *I* ever knew was funnel cake (which I've never

had because I figured the grease would give me, shall we

say, " gastrointestinal distress " ) and zeppoli's (that's an

Italian fried dough ball thingy). Then I move to FL 3 years ago and

fairs here specialize in deep-fried Oreos, Twinkies and Snickers

bars (this is also a state that deep fries TURKEYS!). Since I was

sharing the serving with my husband, we decided the Oreos would be

easiest to split up. They were....OK. Fortunately, not something I

feel the need to eat again (especially because they probably raised

my cholesterol 10 points).

Hi Sharon,

No need to explain but thanks.

If you think 40 is distressing, wait until you hit 50 or worse, you

get an invitation to join AARP.

I have an uncle who lives in Delray Beach. So I know about how they

deep fry everything. I brought my son down for a visit once. He likes

hotdogs. They deep fried them. Unfortunaley, he likes them boiled.

Thanks for the explainiation.
