Guest guest
Jodie, Kori's tips and tricks list is wonderful. Tenny is just over a week in the brace and he is doing better. It just took his parents a bit of time to get a clue. But every child is different and your frustrations are valid. Just knowing that I had a right to be frustrated made me feel better. Those around me kept telling me I was doing okay and it was fine and all of that. But I have a good friend whose daughter was born with a cleft lip and after going through the surgeries and such she is a bit more realistic. She let me vent a bit and now I feel better. Don't know if this helps, I do tend to babble a bit. Do what you can to get his heel down and make him happy, but it is okay to feel frustrated and such. So cry a bit if it makes you feel better. Re: How long is the adjustment period Jodie, The adjustment period is usually just a day or two, it normally gets better if everything is going right w/ the shoes. It sounds like his heels might not be down in the shoes properly which is causing him pain. Have you been checking for blisters/pressure sores? If you are getting his heels down and the strap tight then the heels should stay down. Have you gone through the " tips and tricks " list that is posted to the group periodically? If you don't have this I'm sure Kori can send it to you. Let us know how you are doing. Hope this helps. > > > Yesterday was Zach's first day in the DBB.
