Guest guest
Well I can say that Colby is definitely in puberty due to the pubic hair growth but I'm still not seeing any under the " stinky " (manly according to Colby) arms or on the chest. Facial hair is minimal as well but he does have a few fine ones showing up on the upper lip if the light hits it just right. At 11 he was 10 marks over the RSS curve, at 12 he was 12 marks over, and now at almost 13 he is 13.5 marks over. This may be an indication that his puberty time is going by rapidly since there is an increase year over year. He will have his bone age checked again on June 15th so I will be watching for a decrease in the difference to see if bone and chronological ages are closing in. Regards, Comrie Re: Growth Chart - , Colby seems to be just a little behind Max when Max was 13. Dr. H. then and now still says that Max will be 5'6 " " if (she) has anything to say about it. " At Max's current growth rate, it is 5.9cm/year. She says that is good, so I will believe her. Does Colby sound like he is growing at about this rate, too? I just find it hard to believe that Max will be 5'6 " when he is almost 16 and just barely over 5'. If Colby has established a good, consistent growth curve, then I would assume that he will continue on it for now. I don't know when puberty starts for boys. It is more subtle than it is for girls. I also believe that it goes on for a longer period of time. BUT you have to keep an eye on the bone age, too. It can suddenly advance and, without intervention to stop or delay it, then growth can suddenly cease. Does this make sense? Jodi Z.
