A major help is that my boss is very understanding about taking time off and making up time. My current supplements are working pretty well, although I am adjusting my Vitamin K so that needs a bit of work. My boss doesn't really know I am ill, but has daycare issues like I do, so that gets some sympathy. The pattern of working, coming home and sleeping, and then working again the next day isn't as strong as 5 years ago when I last worked full-time, but I am losing maybe two or three nights to that pattern instead of five. There is a big difference in terms of the work, since this job is really enjoyable as opposed to my previous " real work " . My current dismay is a lingering cold/flu/? that I just was told to go to the ENT for, since my case is too complicated for my PCP's colleague I just saw tonight. My appetite is down, but I'm forcing myself to eat to avoid any issues from that. I wish the doctor would have just given me Tamiflu, but she didn't seem convinced it is the flu (I have chills, fever (but not at the time of the office visit), fatigue (not regular mito fatigue, somewhat different if that makes sense), cough, lack of appetite). I can't get the flu shot unfortunately My thoughts are with many of you toughing it out. I was thinking about cardiomyopathy, as there was an article in Discover magazine on injecting adult marrow-derived stem cells into the heart causing repair of the heart muscle. It was Texas Heart Institute, but of course only a trial now. http://www.tmc.edu/thi/stemcell7-05.html Take care, RH Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
RH, Wow, you are ambitious! I'm glad you like this job (it makes such a difference doesn't it?). I'm also glad your boss is understanding. I wish I had some ideas for you about your flu--I just hope you get well soon. Yesterday I met with a career counselor. She seems great. I'm doing some work from home (teaching for a correspondence course by lying in bed while typing into my laptop) but I want to find something that pays more per hour since I can't increase my hours much and I need more money. She thought we could come up with something. I'm interested to see what happens. Good luck with your job!! --Shayna > > I have been working full-time for a few weeks, and it is going okay so > far.
