Guest guest
Parkinsons meds killed my cousin as she was treated fr Parkinsons for ten years and like me was mis-diagnosed and the meds nearly crippled me. It is so sad as so many of the homeless that are alcoholics steal generic mouthwash (like listerene) and that is what they drink and they would rather have " wash " than liquor? My son knew this one NativeMaerican man who was independently wealthy due to owning land that had oil on it and the fact that he was full-bloded Kickapoo and received money from Golden Eagle Casino. His brother was the one that received and handled all the funds and the trust in his name. Every month he would bring my son ( that passed away) money for him to use to make sure " Jew " had food and such. He wouldn't even sleep one 's porch or the little shed out back of the house, he chose to sleep along the river. There was one friend of 's (that he used to work with) that also was Native American and he slept on my patio until he got set on fire one night and nearly lost his foot. was doing Charlie's laundry for him and he had on a pair of 's cut offs and a pair of old shoes of Davvid's that was this plastic sort of material, one of Charlie's faults was that he would lay down anywhere and go to sleep and someone put lighter fluid on him and set him on fire. Fortunately a roving ambulance found him and took him to the hospital and notified as Charlie had 's name and phone number in his wallet. When he was able to leave the hospital let him come there and took care of him and dried him out. I talk to his Mother now and again, she lives at Manhattan and Charlie stays with her and helps her with her trailer park, he calls me once in awhile also. I think he has the record for being turned in as a " dead body " when he laid down t take a nap. I saw my PCP today and she said that my pneumonia is coming along and that my lungs are clearing up. Thunder is so sweet, he asked his Social Worker " why he couldn't go see his Grandma like Maggie (another foster child) can see her Grandma? It really threw her for a loop, she said she needed to talk to his -Father for a minute and said to him that she wasn't aware of any other relatives, he told he that I was not a blood relative but Thunder believes that I am his Grandmother and we both love each other very much and he may have been doing wrong but when he was in the neighborhood he would stop by with all three of the children for a short while and that I usually had books or something like that for all three children. She called me and her first ?? was if I would be taking him anywhere by myself at anytime, I told her I can't even take me anywhere by myself so that was a definite NO, so we got a clearance for normal visitation. Children are a very precious commidity and so many people just can't realize what they have and are giving up when they choose to give up their child for drugs?? Well, it's about my bedtime as the new will be over shortly. My Paternal Grandfather always sat in his rocking chair by his radio dozing a bit at times but he wouldn't go to bed until after the 10:00 news and that is a habit I have carried on for him. Thanks for the website, I'm sure I will find it interesting. Goodnight and God Bless. Dolores ohgminion rakshasis@...> wrote:I'm glad you are recovering and got a visitor! It is so sad how many Native Americans are saddled with alcohol issues, part of the research I do is related to addictions, and some researchers think that the mechanism for *all addictions* (including alcohol, cocaine, gambling, etc.) is the same, an increase in dopamine in response to partaking. This is interesting about Parkinson's drugs causing addictions: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/07/0712_050712_parkinsons ..html Take care, RH > > > > I do think that the slanted pillow things that Bill but > > under my mattress to elevate the head did make a difference as I > did > > sleep pretty good last night but I stayed up late as I thought that > > might help not to wake up.
