Guest guest
Thanks for your support with Max. It was nice to read that you just let this dwarf/growth disorder thing pass over. I'm even sorry I posted it!!! But I know so well how kids perceive themselves and we can all want to educate the public and make certain terms " pc, " but I will not do it at my child's expense. Calling him a dwarf would really make things complicated and a real mess. As if they aren't already with Max. Now, back to Max being sick, it is the usual thing. The anxiety of returning to school sparked the physical reaction and now we have to tackle the anxiety in order to deal with the physical. One thing we have going on our side is that Max HATES using the j-tube. I can get him to eat orally by just suggesting that he give himself a bolus through the j port. He is 15 and can make his own decisions where appropriate. It is so important to let him feel in control. (I am so TIRED of being an amateur psychologist. Thank goodness we have a real one who supports me and Max along the way. We think so much alike that it is just amazing! She will call to ask about Max and then we talk about what I am saying and doing with Max and she agrees all the way!) I'm hoping that Max will go to school for at least half the day tomorrow. I'll probably have him go at noon after I get home from teaching kindergarten. He may react better knowing that he is only going for a couple of hours and that I am home if he needs to leave.
