Guest guest
I will be having my first child in August I will be 37. My husband asked that if the delivery goes well would I be willing to have another child soon after. I would love to have my children back to back. But, I think that my body would need a little rest. For those of you who have had WLS, how soon did you get pregnant with your second child? What time frame have doctors given for trying for the next child? Guest guest
I had my first psot WLS on 1-16-03, so is 15 months old. I originally wanted another baby right away.....BUT...after having him I decided to wait until the end of this year to get pregnant again. Now, I was never told a time frame to wait to get preggo again. Never really asked either. HOW SOON FOR THE 2ND CHILD? > I will be having my first child in August I will be 37. Guest guest
They say it takes 1 year for your body to be 100% completely back to the way it was before pregnancy. I don't really think the fact that we've had WLS is an issue, but that is just my opinion. I'm 38 and due with my 3rd in 3 weeks. I even asked my plastic surgeon how long I had to wait to get a tummy tuck next year and she said the same thing--she preferred me to wait a year so that my body would be completely back to it's pre-pregnancy state so I could get the best results. Another reason I would recommend to wait a year is so you can enjoy your first one. Also it is nice to get one sleeping through the night before you have another one, LOL! I wouldn't let your age be a factor as so many women give birth now at our age! All that said, I know many women who get pregnant within a year after giving birth and do just fine but with us having had WLS I would want to give it that year to make sure all my nutritional and health levels were 100%. Good luck! Sue EDD 6/11/04 #3 C-section 5/28/04 > I will be having my first child in August I will be 37. Guest guest
Lana, I am 37 now and due with our first child in Sept. I feel like I would like to have another if possible asap before I am too old. We have been married 18 years and we gave up on children - now with this pregnancy I have renewed hope of having at least two. My husband looks like a deer in the headlights when I mention wanting to TTC shortly after this one. WE will have to take it as it comes I guess - who knows maybe after this one I will say one is enough. I am interested in what others have to say though about recovery time and such. Good luck with what ever you decide is best for you. - Diane > I will be having my first child in August I will be 37.
