Guest guest
Jodi, I just thought I would chime in about your situation with your son . He should qualify for speech therapy through the school even if it is an anunciation problem. I think he could possibly qualify for pre-K in the schools if you have it there, just based on a speech problem. In Texas he would. We have an 11 year old with a SLIGHT lisp, and he gets speech. He is totally understandable, and it does not effect his learning, and yet he still gets speech. I found that with my son Storm, (age 8, RSS) as long as his teacher feels that his lack of physical stamina effects his learning, he will be in physical therapy to help build his stamina. It should be the same with speech. If it affects the teacher's ability to understand him, it then affects his ability to learn and therefore he should qualify! Just thought it might help to have a little ammunition. I hope this helps you!
