Our son , 4 has been on the diet for 4 months now. There have been many

instances of cheating and they continue. I'd say on average he's now

getting about 1-2 crackers or similar 1-2 times per week.

He has been diagnosed with asthma, but there have only been three

occurrences bad enough to need medication, and I wonder in hindsight if

these are really withdrawal after a cheating incident.

Has anyone else noticed their child wheezing within a day or two after

cheating on the diet? We have eliminated strawberries as a cause, the last

time he was wheezing though it was definitely after cheating.

The major thing we notice when gets a food off the diet is his

behavior changes... he becomes aggressive and for lack of a better word,

weird. For instance, he's been No 1 potty trained for over a month now, but

after cheating he wants to pee on the walls rather than in the toilet.

Very early in the diet, though not as early as you're at right now, he got

a sip of milk and a bite of bagel and cream cheese. He had four BM's that

day, something my wife couldn't remember the last time that had happened.

My advice is to stick with the diet, make everyone around you aware of what

you're doing and enlist their help as much as possible. has made nice

progress and every time he cheats my wife and I try to toughen up.

Good luck,

Marty, 's Dad

When my guy was first on the diet, the infractions were easier because we

didn't change our life style either. Since then, we just don't leave food

out that could be harmful...that all being said, we just ride it out, it

shows up quickly and lasts a few days. Once the bad behavior comes out, we

know we're on the down side....because that's the withdrawal signs of the

" drugs " coming out of his system...

Hangest thou in there! You're doing great!
