Guest guest
Thank you to whom ever suggested calling Dr. Ponseti about how long my son should wear his brace for 23/7. My husband called and we were surprised at what he said. He told us that after 2 1/2 months we could have him out for 4 hours, at three months 6 hours, at four months 6-8 hours, and then after six months in the brace he only needs to wear it 14-16 hours/day. This seems less restrictive than what we had heard from him before, so my husband questioned him, and he stated that they are finding this time frame still works, and it gives the kids more time to stretch out. I plan to be a little more conservative than this, but I thought I would share what he told us!
Guest guest
Ok, wait a minute. I'm trying to get caught up here, and before I get all excited...:-) After 2 1/2 months you can go 4 hours out? Ava is at 2 1/2 months 23/7 right now & I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to have her out more often. I've actually been a little " bad " lately...some nights have been stretching to 2 hours instead of just 1. She's up on all fours like she wants to crawl, and she seems to enjoy her " free time " so much. So anyway, is this new information about FAB time? Or is that just for your baby in particular? I thought it was just strictly 23/7 for 3 months, then 16-18 hours until walking, then down to 12-14 hours. But what you wrote is kind of different. So what should we be going by? Thanks! , mommy of: Guinevere, on, Ava 8/4/04 right CF DBB 23/7 > Thank you to whom ever suggested calling Dr. Ponseti about how long my son should wear his brace for 23/7.
