Guest guest
I really do understand Jodi. I speak from the perspective of someone who has been through all that and come out the other side. I do believe that pump feeding is force feeding as well....but when our children are going through that non-eating phase what else can you do??!! I can't explain what happened with Imogen. We went through exactly the same as ....feeding, vomiting etc....she couldn't even manage to eat half a Skip without gagging/coughing vomiting and then her nutrini feed would come up! She just began eating in her third year and we were able to remove her tube and let her natural appetite develop. I don't think anyone really knows why our kids don't eat to start with....but it's a problem that usually disappears within the first few years. Ithink Jodi Z's son must be an excption. I also think a lot of parents keep their childrens tubes in longer than neccersary as insurance against weight loss. I think this is perfectly understandable. As others say to you Jodi...hang in there...you WILL come through it and these rough times will be a distant memory. will be running about free of tubes before you know it. Eileen x Eileen, I know I should obsess about this as much as I do, but when it comes to how severe is with the weight gain issue, I can't help it. Plus, is still on this tube, and he willbe as long as he has this much trouble gaining weight even after being " force fed " . Do you know what I am saying. If he can't gain on the tube, how will EVER eat enough by mouth to gain? I just worry about that. I just can't fathom how he will eat enough. I worry about the tube being around for a LONG time! Eeck! It's a wonder I am so crazy! Jodi R. ---------------------------------
