Guest guest
By any chance is she getting some big teeth coming in. they could be bothering her and if so give her a little baby tylenol to help with the pain and she may sleep better. I hope she sleeps soon for you. Also if it continues it would not hurt to check her earss. Maybe she is getting fluid when she is laying down and it bothers her, You could try elevating her matress a little by putting a folded blanket or thin pillow UNDER the mattress, NOt in the crib, to get her head up more. i had to do that with my boys and it worked well. good Luck, wish I were more help. Guest guest
I haven't been checking posts in quite some time, so if this has been addressed lately, I apologize. This is a long one, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. I'm at such a real loss. My daughter is exactly 8 months old. She has never slept through the night. I was nursing her up until 2 weeks ago...she wheened like a pro...didn't seem to phase her a bit. I had thought that might help her, but it hasn't. So, here's the situation. We have had an excellent bed time routine since she was about 2 months old. She gets a bath (loves it, plays in tub for about 20 - 30 minutes), then we do the sleepy time lotion, jammies, turn on the lullaby CD, and she gets a bottle, I put her in her crib and goes right to sleep (8:00ish)...it's awesome. However, some time between 12 and 2, she is up, crying...she wants to go back to sleep, but needs to be rocked back to sleep...usually with a bottle (4oz). She's usually always back up by 4 or 5 and we do the same routine. But, for about the past month as soon as I get her back to sleep and put her back in her crib, she starts screaming. I've even tried just letting her cry herself to sleep, but she can go for over an hour...(I give in before she does). And now she can sit or stand in her crib, so she's standing at the side just screaming. I don't know what to do. I know that she needs to be able to sleep on her own. But she seems to want to be held all night long. I can't do that. This week I have started putting rice cereal in her bottle at bed time, but that doesn't seem to help either. I'm at such a lost. I work full time, and the sleep deprivation is really catching up with me. I would welcome and advise I could get. Guest guest
Hello Jodi, My son is 4 and still doesn't sleep through the night. HE was also breastfed. But when he was a baby what helped him and us was the " family bed " theory. We would put him in his bed to sleep and when he woke up we put him in ours. He loved being inbetween mommy and daddy and still does. I know some people will not agree that this is a good thing but I actually felt better and slept better knowing exactly where my son was and I think he liked and still likes knowing where we are. I know this probably doesn't help but alot of kids act out their insecurities at night time and from what our pediatrician says it starts very young. Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Guest guest
Jodi, Have you talked to your doctor about this? My daughter was like that and she was very colicky and then developed croup. Could this be the problem? I hope that you get some answers as I know what it is like to not get any sleep on top of the fact that you can't seem to comfort your baby. Best wishes to you!!
