Guest guest
since my PCP was the one who sent me for the urine test last Friday. So I tell the nurse that I had taken two HPTs last Friday and last night and both were positive and I wasn't sure what to do next. Her response, " Didn't believe the first one, huh? " Then she scheduled my first appointment with my OB/GYN for 6/14. I was certain they were going to send me to a lab. Has anyone else's doctor just believed the test and scheduled an appointment? She didn't ask me when my last period was or anything. I'm sorry if I am sounding like a doofus, but I've never been pregnant before. This " finding out " process is nothing like I thought it would be. I imagined sitting my husband down with a wrapped box over a candle-lit dinner and when he opened the box, he'd see a bib that says " I love my Daddy " . Instead, my husband and I don't know whether to get excited or keep " trying " . As long as I am pregnant and everyone's healthy, I guess I shouldn't sweat the small stuff, huh? Guest guest
Believe the tests!!! Congratulations! The bHCG hormone produced after conception is pretty much the only thing that makes those tests " positive. " It is vary rare to get a false positive, more likely to get a false negative due to not enough hormone produced to activate the test. Many doctors offices use tests that are similar to the home pregnancy test, just different brands...some more sensitive than most home preg tests...some aren't. So enjoy this pregnancy and good luck!
