I have written a couple times on the listserve about my 2 mo. old daughter

and

her reflux issues. Well, she is in the hospital now. I just came home to take

a

shower. For the past several days, she hasn't been eating well, but is still

vomiting

constantly due to the reflux. I thought she would be admitted to have the pH

probe &

gastric emptying scan, but she isn't able to have those tests done until Monday.

In

the meantime, she is not eating very well, is on IV fluids, and still puking!

The funny

(not haha funny) thing is that the doctor seems to be waiting for her to stop

vomiting.

Well, she has vomited constantly for the past 6 weeks or so, so why would she

stop

now? This is hard to deal with the 3rd tme around! Her brother, , has a

g-

tube & fundo, & my other son, also had bad reflux, but the silent type.

We

have tried 7 different formulas & now 5 medications, and nothing helps. I am at

my

wits end! She seems to be happy now in the hospital, but she is lethargic.

Some way

to spend Mother's Day! Sorry, just felt the need to vent!

I did have another reason for writing this message... I was telling the GI

doctor about

, RSS, who sees a different GI. He asked me if he had ever been on a

med

called Megace. He said it is an appetite stimulant with no side effects like

Periactin.

He said it is used for oncology patients. Has anyone ever heard of this or used

it? I

never heard Dr. H mention this drug. I'd be curious about checking into this

more.
