Guest guest
thks Anne Marie - I'll try Epic when I've finished my current supply. pamela Re: supplements/ where to start? Hi Pamela, I have never ordered anything from whole food products. So I am not saying that they don't have a good product. But if you feel that they don't seem to be making any difference in your health, you can either stay on them for another month or so or you can try a different brand. With Epic they recommend that you only take half of the dosage that you would take with any other product. Epic is more expensive(yes, they do give a discount to people with Mito) but you don't use as much of the product. If you are on a j tube they now have CoQ10 drops that can be put directly into the J tube. Good Luck Hugs, Ann-Marie I wonder if anyone has bought CoQ10 from Whole Health Products www.wholehealthproducts.com ? I have recently started (3 mths ago) 600 mg per day and not sure whether there is a difference so wondering if it's me or the capsules. The attraction is that they offer 300 mg capsules at $39.98 for 60 which seems good to me.... pamela
Guest guest
Pamela You may want to try a higher dose. We are all different, but I had to get up to 240 mg. four times a day before I saw benefits. I use the Tishcon (Epic is destributor). Early suggestions were to take 5-10 mg. per kilo of body weight, but some recent research is now suggesting 60 mg. per kilo of body weight. That is much more than I am taking, so I guess it is trial and error. Research done on Parkinson's found that those taking 1000 to 1200 mg per day saw benefits, but those on less didn't. This was a controlled FDA approved research protocol. laurie > thks Anne Marie - I'll try Epic when I've finished my current supply. > pamela > > Re: supplements/ where to start? > Hi Pamela, > I have never ordered anything from whole food products. Guest guest
Wow that's a lot - if I'm 70kg that's 4200 mg per day! I have just gone to the Tishcon site and read about Q-Gel. I will definitely try this (also have now noticed that Whole Health Products says in small print that they have not been assessed by FDA so might as well go with one that is proven). Will have to get through this box I've ordered first which has just arrived - will up the dosage and see what happens. thks Laurie Re: supplements/ where to start? > Hi Pamela, > I have never ordered anything from whole food products. Guest guest
Pamela Please make your increases slowly. Also, to get the discount from Tishcon, you will need to call rather than just order on the epic website. They are very nice folks. laurie > Wow that's a lot - if I'm 70kg that's 4200 mg per day! Guest guest
Thanks for the links--I am fighting my military insurance again since they changed administrators in Jul 2004. After many appeals and being told a vitamin supplement is not covered and qgel is not made I am sending my case to my local congressman. I do have approval from a Tricare appeals board from 2001 based on Qgel having orphan drug status. Tricare pays about the same amount as Medicare so this link may also help. Now I have to get all the stuff together and send it. Janet Sample Re: supplements/ where to start? > Hi Pamela, > I have never ordered anything from whole food products.
